Ronette Jacobs selected for Hamilton Relay 2022 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Virginia

Ronette Jacobs of Portsmouth, Virginia has been selected as the recipient of the Hamilton Relay 2022 Better Hearing and Speech Month Award for the State of Virginia. Ronette has a high level of commitment to providing her time to the communities of the Tidewater region of Virginia.

Ronette is currently an active member for HLAA-Virginia Beach Chapter. She volunteers her time as the newsletter editor and provides hearing loss presentations across the area on behalf of the chapter. She also contributes her time with HLAA-Fredericksburg by providing presentations throughout the area regarding hearing loss prevention.

Ronette is also an active member for Access Virginia which is a non-profit organization that was created to provide open captioning and audio description at live theatrical performances so individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or low vision can attend and enjoy performances. She is a currently on the cast for their “Between Sound and Silence” play.

Ronette is also a strong advocate for the hearing loss community by maintaining an active roll as a Hearing Loss Education Advocate for Sentara and Chesapeake Regional Hospital and NPR.

We commend Ronette for her advocacy and leadership. We are proud to present her with the Better Hearing and Speech Month Award for the State of Virginia.
